  • Analytics data — aggregated browsing behaviour via Google Analytics (anonymized, no personal identifiers collected by us through this channel)
  • Cookies — small text files stored by your browser. We use essential session cookies (required for the site to function) and Google Analytics cookies. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.

3. How we use your information

We collect and use your information only for the purposes you'd reasonably expect from a renovation contractor:

  • Responding to your inquiry and providing a project quote
  • Scheduling a site visit and discussing your renovation
  • Communicating about an active or completed project
  • Sending occasional follow-up after project completion (e.g., warranty reminder, review request)
  • Improving our website and services based on aggregated, anonymized usage data

  • Sub-trades and project partners — when a trade contractor (e.g., licensed plumber, electrician, cabinet maker) needs your project address and contact info to coordinate work on your project. We use a small group of trades we've worked with regularly.
  • Government and municipal authorities — when applying for building permits with the City of Vancouver, District of West Vancouver, or other municipalities on your behalf, your project information forms part of the permit application.
  • Service providers — our website hosting (Hostinger), email provider (Namecheap Private Email), and Google Workspace for business communication. These providers are bound by their own privacy obligations.
  • Legal obligations — when required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties for any purpose.

5. How we protect your information

We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your information:

  • HTTPS encryption across the entire website
  • Access to client records limited to team members who need it
  • Secure email and file storage (Google Workspace, encrypted at rest)
  • Strong passwords and two-factor authentication on business accounts

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affecting your personal information ever occurs, we will notify you in accordance with PIPEDA breach-notification requirements.

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes described above:

  • Active project records — for the duration of the project plus 7 years (warranty, tax, and statutory record-keeping obligations under BC law)
  • Quotation inquiries that don't proceed to contract — typically 2 years, then anonymized or deleted
  • Server logs — typically 90 days
  • Google Analytics data — per Google's standard retention (currently 14 months)
